How we communicate
We prefer to communicate via email or WhatsApp. To ensure that my emails reach your inbox and not your junk folder, please add info@rockjam.ie as an accepted contact. Additionally, you can reach us on at 089 407 6600 for any immediate inquiries or urgent matters.
Lesson Schedule 2024/2025
Rockjam Modern Music Academy operates over 35 weeks of the year following the department of education timetable.
2024/25 School Year
Term 1 (10 weeks)
2nd September - 26th October

Term 2 (13 weeks)

Midterm break 16th February - 23rd February - No Lessons

Rockjam ltd reserves the right to amend these dates when necessary and will endeavour to remind customers of any planned absences with due notice.
At all times it is the responsibility of the pupil to be aware of the first and last dates of term at Rockjam Modern Music Academy.
Fees
We currently have two payment options - Term payments and Monthly payments
Term payments
Upfront payment for the full term.
We have 3 Terms per year amounting to 35 lessons. Term payments must be made 2 weeks before the term begins to insure your place.
Monthly payments
Monthly lesson prices are calculated by taking a monthly average, considering the number of lessons scheduled over the course of a calendar year, which typically has approx 35 working weeks.
Some months will contain 5 lessons whereas others (such as December) may only have 2.
This approach ensures a fair and consistent pricing structure throughout the year, providing students with a predictable and affordable monthly payment plan.Fees are automatically charged on the 1st of the month.
Fees will increase routinely on the 1st of April each year in order to keep up with inflation.
Missed Lessons
Student Absences
If you need to cancel a lesson we require 24 hours notice. Notice is defined as a text to our whatsapp number 089 407 6600 or email to info@rockjam.ie with the word 'Absence' in the header.
The teacher will then create a short bespoke video with a lesson and notes for the student to continue their progress. This is the best way for us to keep momentum and make the best use of the teachers time.
In the absence of 24 hours notice we cannot guarantee the lesson will be covered in this way. Rockjam ltd does not offer lesson credits or refunds for student absences.
Teacher Absences
Our Teachers are working musicians. Occasionally they will need to take a gig/show and miss a lesson. We encourage this! Your teachers experience can only benefit you. However, this will be done reasonably.
If a lesson needs to be cancelled by the teacher, we will either have another teacher take the lesson or offer an alternative time slot for rescheduling. Where those options cannot be met, we will provide a credit for the following month or a refund for the cancelled lesson.
Cancellations and Lesson Breaks
One calendar month's notice is required to cancel lessons.
Where one calendar month has not been given by the customer Rockjam Modern Music Academy reserves the right to charge the outstanding balance to the payment card registered upon sign up.
If a student wishes to take a break from lessons, they must provide one calendar month's notice. In order to reserve the student's place, a retention fee of 50% is required. The reserved space will be held for a maximum of 3 calendar months, after which it will be considered forfeited.
During any break period, Rockjam Modern Music Academy will offer the temporarily open slot as a subsidised slot to a student who would not typically have access to or afford private tuition. The selection process for this slot will involve a short application process or nomination. Can you nominate or sponsor a child's music lesson who would not typically have access to a service like this?
Cooling off period
You have the legal right to cancel this agreement within the "cooling off period" as outlined in the The Consumer Rights Act 2022. During this period, which starts from the date of the agreement and lasts for 14 days, the Student can choose to cancel the agreement by notifying Rockjam Ltd. Upon cancellation, the Student will receive a refund for any Lessons paid for but not received prior to the cancellation. Please inform Rockjam Ltd by email (info@rockjam.ie) if you decide to exercise your right to cancel the agreement.
Use of Photos and Video
By enrolling, you grant Rockjam ltd permission to capture and use photographs or videos of the student for promotional and business purposes. These materials may be used in various formats, including print and digital media, website, social media platforms, and marketing materials. We are committed to maintaining your privacy and will not disclose any personally identifiable information associated with the photographs or videos. If you wish to withdraw consent, please notify us in writing. I assure you that the materials will be used safely, appropriately, and with respect.
